  Stock: Refers to the type of bristle or filament material in a paint brush. Its purpose is to pick up and release paint.
Thickness:

The measurement at the metal ferrule to determine the "depth" of the brush.
Length Out:
(Length)
Also known as "trim" or "length clear," this refers to the exact length of the bristles, or filaments, measured from the tip of the bristles, or filaments, to where they meet the metal ferrule.
 Nap: Pile length of the fabric on a roller cover. Measured from the exterior surface of the core to the top of the fabric.
Phenolic: Resin used to impregnate paper to create the crush-resistant, reusable core on our roller covers.
